Welcome To My Blog

Hello and welcome to my blog.

This is actually my second go around at blogging. My first foray into this world was several years ago on a business trip to Japan.  http://dotcaffrey.blogspot.com   Scary that it is still there. This one will be less subject specific but hopefully just as enjoyable.

As an author preparing to release her first ebook, I have been told I need a web presence. Me? Who is going to want to read a blog by me?  A book, yes.  Because I have a lot of stories to tell but none of them are about me  Heck, what do I do that anyone wants to read about? Well, I am going to take a stab and hopefully it will turn into something more than a “written sleeping pill”.

Things I know I won’t be discussing will be politics or religion. Those are subjects, I think, that are one’s own preference. And, to be honest, I don’t think most peoples views on them can easily be changed.

So, now that I have made the leap into what I will call “non-specific blogdom”, what do I start with? What do I like?  Hmm, hockey? Nah, most folks don’t want to hear about that.  Video games?  Anime?  Nah, haven’t really been keeping up with that much lately either.

Guess I could tell you that I just took a trip to New Hampshire a few months back to visit the family.  But who, outside of the family really cares about that.  By the way, the leaves hadn’t really turned then so I can’t even wax poetic about the beautiful colors, and it was before the snow so I can’t comment about that.

Could talk about my cats but really, even I know no one but me is interested in them.  The only interest I usually get about them is “how did you come up with those names – Yuroichi, Kyouya and Mashishiro?   But once I begin telling them, eyes glaze over and yawns break out in epidemic fashion.

Costuming and cosplay? Again, interesting to a few. Perhaps I will just post a few pictures now and then.

Now that I have come up with lots of topics NOT to talk about in the blog (though I won’t promise that you will never hear about them now and then), I wonder what is left?  Guess I could actually just ramble on like I have so far – hopefully with an actual topic.  Or maybe I could share some of my writing to see what you might think.  And as I move along in my career as a self-published author I can tell you all about the ups and downs I encounter – hopefully more ups than downs, but we will just need to wait and see.
